10/26/08- Here is the video on surfermag.com of the Garden State Grudge Match held at Casino Pier on Oct 20. Watch KR shredding the overhead waves on his way into the quartfinals. Congratulations go out to Sam Hammer for winning the whole thing and Mike Gleason for making the finals. All the boys were ripping the whole day.

KR Makes Quarters at Grudge and Gets Shot on Surfline

Kevin Richards made the Quarters of the Smith Optics Garden State Grudge Match. Kr Surfed strong all day beating Rob Kelly to make it to the quarters. Kr was stopped by Chris Eaves in a wave starved quarters. Sam Hammer went on to beat Mike Gleason in the finals. Annual Warehouse SALE SAT, OCT 4th

Movement Team Riders Featured in School of Surf: Red Bull Riders Cup

Movement Team riders Matt Rink and Zach Kreiser are featured as part of the Ocean City, NJ high school surf team that has a feature part in "School of Surf: Red Bull Riders Cup". Matt and Zach can be seen throughout both of the below videos as the OC high school surf team is highlighted for their acheivements this past spring during the Red Bull Riders Cup. Scott Drages Makes the "Wretched Wetsuit"

The "Wretched Wetsuit" is a surf blog on EXPN.com written by Jon Coen. Click here to check out the blog and check out the article Entitled "hurricane Hunters". Kevin Richards Takes Second In Grudge Match Trials

Team rider Kevin Richards placed second in the Smith Optics Grudge Match Trials. This earns him a spot into the main event that happens in October. KR surfed amazing all day and also netted the Skull Candy Wave of the Day Award w/ a 9.0 in his first heat. Kevin also helped the 7th Street Surf Shop team earn a third place finish at the Quiksilver Shop Challange a couple of weeks ago.

James has been spending a lot of time this winter in Puerto Rico. The last time he went he scored some fun waves and his photographer scored a photo that landed him in the User Gallery on the Surfermag.com website. Congrats go out to James and TJ for their hard work.

Kickin' Off 2008 Right

Movement is kicking 2008 off right. We'd like to welcome Kevin Richards back to the team. Kevin is a standout surfer from South Jersey but rules any lineup he finds himself at. KR is already hard at work for Movement by posting a spread in the January issue of ESM. This year KR plans on doing some regional contests, traveling and shooting for some upcoming video projects. In other team news Scott Drages just got his first ad with wetsuit sponsor Hyperflex. Look for Scott's ad in January's ESM, Surfshot, and GSS. Look for more from Scott as he plans on traveling and shooting heavily in 2008. In other team news, a bunch of photos have been coming in from team rider James Theobald. It seems as though he has been traveling to Puerto Rico every other week to escape the doldrums of Merrick, NY and surf some good waves in warm water. Keep an eye out for more from James in 2008.

Team Rider Brendan Tighe Wins Kenny Tooker Memorial Classic

Big congratulations good out to team rider Brendan Tighe for winning the Junior Division of the Kenny Tooker Memorial Classic. The event went down in clean, chest high conditions. Movement Team Fairs Well at the Dean Randazzo "Surf For a Cause" Contest Movement team rider Zach Kreiser took first place in the boys division of The Dean Randazzo Cancer Foundation's Surf for a Cause 2007 on Saturday, Sept. 8th. Zach was ripping all day in some extremely trying, shin high conditions. Way to go Zach!!! Keep the results coming. Later in the day Kevin Richards took to the water in the Pro division and in a controversial decision (that's my opinion) he placed a respectable 5th place (I felt he was top three . . .but I wasn't a judge). Come down and join us for the two upcoming events. First we have the 6th Annual Surf Rodeo that is coming up on Labor Day, (Sept. 3rd, 2007). This event is all about fun and how many contests do you get to use all types of different "retro" surfboards.. It's a great way to end summer. (see events section for more info.) Second is the Dean Randazzo Cancer Foundation's "Surf For a Cause" on Sept. 8th, 2007. This is another event that is always a good time and is for a great cause. Come out and support. (see events section for more info.)

Skate Team News

Ki Realer recently won the grand prize in Red Bull's "Show Us Your Manny" Contest. He submitted his video (See link below) and won the damn thing. The grand prize was a new video camera so he can go out and capture more manny footage. He has also been invited to compete and the new Pro "Manny" contest that Red Bull puts on. Congratulations Ki. Zach Wenrich has had a busy summer doing demos all over the country and recently made the cover of Uprise Zine. Inside there is a little feature about our boy Zach. Keep up the good work. Brendan Tighe recently got 4th place overall in the junior division of the Brendan Borek Memorial contest. If you didn't make it out to the event you missed a good time. Sunny, decent wave and plenty of ladies on the beach. We had a bunch of the boys handing out temp tattoos to everyone. Look for us at some of the upcoming events with more tattoos.

Team Rider Ki Realer just found out that he has won the Red Bull "Show Us Your Manny" Contest. He submitted this manny video and won. Ki is psyched and hopefully he will get to compete in the Red Bull manny contest in NYC. We'll keep you posted.

Ki Realer has had quite an eventful July. After teaching skate camp in Texas for about 3 weeks he flys from Texas to Philly then drives straight to Brooklyn, NYC and wins the best trick contest at Homage Skateshop's Smith Street Bastille Day celebration. Not bad for having no sleep and traveling throughout the day before. All the while Ki is "doing work" he is sitting on a 2 page spread in Focus Skate Mag. All you kids out there should take a page from Ki's book, sponsors love it when you are ripping, winning contests and getting shots in the mags.

Last weekend Movement helped celebrate the opening of a sick new, all concrete park in south Jersey. It is a mix between FDR and Love park so it has a little something for everyone. From nice trannies to stairs and ledges. There is even a nice shaped pool for you bowl riders. Christian Hosoi was there shredding and talking to the kids about skating and life. Affiliate Team Rider Mike Angerman recently sceduld himself to compete in the Durhamtown FMX comp a couple weeks ago. He was killing the competition all weekend on the practice runs but on the final practice run on the day of the contest Mike over rotated and took a spill. He came up with a dislocated thumb and couldn't continue. Mike has since recovered and is in serious training mode for some upcoming FMX comps. Be sure to check him out.
